On July 20, 2004.. IP ver.6.0 released..

ICANN, the U.S. body overseeing Web site allocations globally, has launched a new technology that will allow virtually unlimited Internet addresses..

Internet Corp. for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) said the next-generation protocol, IPv6, had been added to its root server systems, making it possible for every person or device to have an Internet protocol address.

Rapid growth in the use of the World Wide Web has in recent times prompted concerns about future scarcity of domain addresses, with demand threatening to overload the existing system, the IPv4.

Los Angeles-based ICANN was given the job of overseeing the Internet's naming and numbering system globally by the U.S. government.

About two-thirds of the 4.3 billion Internet addresses currently available were used up, adding that IPv6 could magnify capacity by some "25,000 trillion trillion times".

IPv6 system would run parallel to IPv4 for about 20 years to ensure that any bugs or system errors were weeded out.

Does your company have a problem in recruiting the right person for the right job? If yes, try out this simple experiment. Put around 100 bricks in some particular order in a closed room with an open window. Then send 2-3 candidates into the room and close it from outside. Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours, and then analyse the situation:

If they are counting and recounting the number of bricks
PUT THEM IN ACCOUNTING

If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks
PUT THEM IN THE CLEARING DEPT

If they are arranging the bricks in some other order
PUT THEM IN PLANNING

If they are throwing the bricks at each other
PUT THEM IN OPERATIONS

If they are sleeping
PUT THEM IN SECURITY

If they have broken the bricks into pieces
PUT THEM IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

If they are staring out of the window
PUT THEM IN THE NRI CELL

If they are sitting idle
PUT THEM IN HR

If they have thrown the bricks out of the window
PUT THEM IN THE LOANS SECTIONS

If they are clinging onto the bricks
PUT THEM IN TREASURY

If they are talking to each other and not a brick has moved
PUT THEM IN MANAGEMENT

If they say they have tried different combinations, yet not a brick has moved
PUT THEM IN SALES

If they have already left for the day
PUT THEM IN MARKETING

Amazing presence of mind man!

An eccentric philosophy professor gave a one question final exam after a semester dealing with a broad array of topics. The class was already seated and ready to go when the professor picked up his chair, plopped it on top of his desk and wrote on the board: "Using everything we have learned this semester, prove that this chair does not exist." Fingers flew, erasers erased, notebooks were filled in furious fashion. Some students wrote over 30 pages in one hour attempting to refute the existence of the chair. One member of the class, however, was up and finished in less than a minute.

Weeks later when the grades were posted, the rest of the group wondered how she could have gotten an "A"" when she had barely written anything at all.

Her answer consisted of two words: "What chair?"

You are driving along on a wild stormy night.

You pass by a bus stop.

Three people are waiting for the bus:

1. An old lady who is ill and about to die.

2. An old friend who once saved your life.

3. The perfect man (or woman) you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car.

This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.

a. Do you pick up the old lady, because she will die if left there, and thus you should save her first?

b. Or do you take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be your perfect chance to repay him?

c. And you may never be able to find your perfect dream-lover again.

Think before you continue reading:

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer.

WHAT DID HE SAY?

He simply answered: "I would give the car keys to my old friend,
and let him take the lady to the hospital. I then would stay
behind and wait for the bus with the woman of my dreams."

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn
thought limitations!

The world is not a cruel place, really. We just need to think creatively
and take the right action - always.
